The Town of Greater Napanee is warning residents that westbound Hwy 401 between County Rd. 4 and Palace Road will be closed for between six to eight hours Thursday morning.
The closure will allow crews to recover a transport that went off the road in the area of Brandon Creek Wednesday. The truck lost control at around 4 a.m. and damaged 500 m of guardrails before it tipped onto its side in the north ditch, the Napanee OPP reports.
The 50-year-old driver and lone occupant was charged with careless driving.
A detour route will be established to divert traffic south on County Rd. 4 to County Rd. 2 and out County Rd. 5 (Palace Road) to Hwy 401.
