Vehicle collision leads to charges for Napanee man

On May 9 at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County OPP responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on County Road 41 at McCutcheon Road in Greater Napanee.

Investigation revealed that the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled over and came to rest in the ditch. The driver was showing signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further processing by a Drug Recognition Expert officer. The driver was uncooperative and refused to complete the testing.

L&A County OPP have charged a 26-year-old of Greater Napanee contrary to the criminal code with:

  • Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on May 25, 2021. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
