After somewhat of a slow start, the AFW U20 Express found their footing with five straight wins at the Canadian Fast Pitch Championships in Carp, On.

The defending champion Express closed out Friday’s round robin with a 6-5 win over Newfoundland and a 7-2 victory over Quebec.

Napanee’s roll has included every variety of win from routes to thrilling walk-offs, including a 3-2 thriller over Nova Scotia in Thursday’s late night action.

With the game tied 2-2 into extra innings, Kaden Fowler delivered the go ahead RBI to carry the Express to victory. Matt Musclow earned the win for Napanee.

The Express started the tournament with a mediocre 1-2 mark before the got hot and went on their five game roll.

They’re now 6-2, which is good for third in the league standings with round robin action wrapping up later tonight. Only Plattsville and Rostock are ahead of Napanee-also the two teams that have bested them this week.

Playoffs are set to get underway Saturday morning at noon.
