U18 Stars open playoffs with 3-0 shutout of Stirling

The U18 Napanee Stars hit the playoff ice in Stirling to play solid hockey, and earn a 3-0 win. James Dacosta got the winner seven minutes into the contest. Jack Madden and Austin Catena also tallied, with Tyler Brady and Zac Slaven drawing assists on Madden’s goal. Ryan Aldridge earned the win between the pipes. They travel to Picadilly on Friday.

-The U15 Stars find themselves in a hole to start the playoffs after being edged 4-3 in Wellington facing the Prince Edward County Kings. They spotted their hosts a goal in the first period, and could not recover. Saturday at 5:30 they will look to redeem themselves facing the Kings at the SPC in Napanee.

-The Conger’s Plumbing U13 AE team were in Douro on Sunday, and took a 9-1 loss. Their hosts scored in the first minute, but Cameron Markland made it 1-1 with 5:33 left in the first. The rest was all Douro. They travel to Marmora on Saturday for game two.

-The Tomlinson Group U11s put in a solid performance in Stirling to win 5-3. Grayson Rowe got them on the board early on. In the second frame, Brock Gunter made it 2-1, and Maddux Hartwick added to the total in the third. Gunter’s second tally with 8:25 left was the winner, and Ben Babcock got an insurance marker to round out the scoring. Cole Osborne was in goal. Saturday, they visit Frontenac.
