U18 Stars go 1-2 at Pembroke Silver Stick

The U18 D&D Electrocraft Napanee Stars earned a 1-2 record at the weekend 16 team Pembroke Silver Stick tournament. Friday they got by Ottawa Sting 4-2. Jayden Holden had a pair, while Luc Asselstine and Zered Haller each scored singles. In the evening, they fell 4-1 to Clarence-Rockland. Carter Slaven recorded their only tally. On Saturday, the U18 Stars were shut out 3-0 by West Carleton.

-The U15 Napanee Stars placed fourth at the 10 team Kingston Canadians “A” tourney. In the semis, facing Casselman-Embrun, the Stars lost 6-2. They traded two goals each in the first period, before their opponents scored four unanswered tallies. Jacob Lyons and Callen Wilson each scored. On Friday, the U15 Stars shut out Oakville 4-0 on the strength of goals by Brock Boutillier (two), Oliver Kimmett, and Brock Alaver. Also in round robin, they rolled over Milton 4-2. Wilson, Colton Lockridge, Alaver, and Kimmett tallied for the locals. Saturday they put away South Grenville 6-3. Wilson had a hat trick, with singles by Wes Davey, Boutillier, and Alaver. A 3-0 shutout of East Lambton ranked them first in the playoff round. Wilson, Davey, and Alaver did the damage for the locals.

-Last week, the U13’s put in a strong performance to defeat the Kingston Canadians 3-0. Maddux Hartwick got the winner ten minutes into the contest. Chase Castagnier and Levi Brown chipped in goals also. Saturday in Ennismore, the Stars were edged 6-5 in a tight contest. Keegan Wilde had a pair, and Ben Babcock, Tripp Deacon, and Castagnier contributed singles.

-The Cpk Interior Products U11B Napanee Stars overpowered Ottonabee 8-1 at the SPC on Sunday. Luke Dunn fired a centering pass into the twine to start the onslot. Ira Bellegarde would get the winner seconds later, and Sullivan Elliott went upstairs to solidify the victory still in the first. Reflecting their control, the Stars outshot the Wolves 11-1 in the first frame. Still not done, Henry Boyles earned a hat trick, while Charlie Dwyer and Ford Fairbairn also scored.

-U11D Stars were shut out in Campbellford on Saturday. Sunday at home, they fell to a strong Centre Hastings squad.
