The Napanee U18 Stars clinched their trip to the Ontario Championship weekend at the end of March with a solid 5-3 win in Wellington facing the Prince Edward County Kings.
Monday at home, they faced a chippy Stirling team again, but prevailed 5-2 to complete a perfect playoff record. After a scoreless first, Luc Amat tapped in Connor McGinnis’ rebound. Brody Beaubien tied the score at two on a 2-on-1 with Spencer Cranley. Zered Haler got the winner in the dying seconds of the middle frame. Jack Osborne tallied from the slot on the power play, and Ty Kemp rounded out the scoring. Shots on goal favoured the Stars 33-17.

-The Napanee U15 Stars control their destiny after a convincing 5-2 win over Stirling at the Strathcona Paper Centre. Brock Alaver put them on the board early, and Luc Asselstine made it 2-1 still in the first. Callen Wilson scored the winner just over four minutes into the second, and Ben Kerr, and Wyatt Albright would add to the total. Goalie Jackson Godfrey got the win, their second of the round robin. They will face the County and Stirling on the road the next two weekends.

-The U13 Stars travelled to Wellington as well on Saturday to come away with a solid 5-1 win over the Prince Edward County Kings to keep their hopes alive in the playoff picture. After a slow start, the boys took charge to win convincingly. On Wednesday, they welcome Frontenac to the SPC in a “must win” situation, and also the last “Rep” home playoff game of the season.
