A balanced scoring attack powered the Napanee U18 BB Crunch to a provincial bronze medal in London this weekend.

Napanee’s Kristen Sutton, Sydney Woodcock, Gracie Hughes and Halle Woodcock each had a goal in their 4-1 win over the Scarborough Sharks in the bronze medal game. Halle Woodcock, Bethany Foster and Claire Whitney picked up assists.

The win was a nice rebound to close out the weekend after the Crunch came up just short in the semifinals, falling 1-0 to Waterloo.

Prior to that game the Crunch had gone unbeaten, opening the tournament with a pair of scoreless ties, the first to Sudbury the second to Chatham. Keyra Herrington recorded the first shutout while Meena Peterson matched the feat in the second game.

From there the Crunch got the offence rolling with a 4-1 win over Kincardine. Sydney Woodcock and Foster each had a goal while Kristen Sutton scored a pair. Maeve Kennedy, Lila Pringle, Sydney Woodcock and Whitney picked up assists.

Napanee then doubled up Norfolk 2-1 on goals from Sutton and Halle Woodcock to advance to the semifinals. Sydney Woodcock assisted on both goals.
