U18 and U15 Stars firing on all cylinders in 10-0 victories

The Napanee U18 Stars hosted Gananoque Sunday, dominating their opponents 10-0. Carter Slaven got the winner less than two minutes in, and tallied again shortly after. Spencer Cranley added to the total combining with Luc Amat. Jayden Holden scored on a breakaway, on an error by the Islander defenseman, before Jack Madden netted a point shot. Amat, Jack Osborne, and Zered Haller also stretched the lead in the second period. Osborne would put one off the goalie’s forehead to score, and Owen Kish would round out the scoring on a power play marker. Aiden Vallier earned the shutout between the pipes.

Napanee’s U15 Stars also shut out their opponents, Centre Hastings, by an identical 10-0 score. Wesley Davey snapped one from near the corner in the first minute, and Colton Lockridge went top shelf after breaking loose. Lucas Asselstine was credited with a goal, as it appeared to go in off his body. Asselstine would get another before the first frame ended. Shots favoured Napanee 18-3. The locals would continue to maintain control over the next two periods with goals by Ben Kerr, Kohen Cutler, Evan Gaffney, Callen Wilson (two), Wyat Albright, and Devin Robinson.

Sunday in Amherstview, the U15’s they rolled over the Loyalist Jets 9-3. Scoring for Napanee were Wilson (four), Kerr, Asselstine, Brock Alaver, Brock Boutilier, and Will Babcock.

The U13 Stars let one slip away to settle for a 5-5 tie with Douro. After spotting them a goal, Quinn McConnell tied the score, and Chase Castagnier would get a breakaway goal coming off the bench. In the second, McConnell would convert a Castagnier set up. Keagan York made a fine move around defensemen to make it 5-2. The Dukes would chip away at the lead, and clinch the tie with 2:20 remaining.

The U11 North Fleet squad suffered a 15-1 loss to Prince Edward County last Wednesday. Napanee’s Elliott Sullivan spoiled the shutout on a breakaway with 1:36 left in the third frame.
