Making their first appearance at the Tier I level of the PWSA Grand Championships, the Napanee Express U15 girls had a strong showing in Stratford.

The Express opened the weekend with a 7-7 tie against LaSalle on Friday morning.

In their second game they matched up against a strong Palmerston club, falling 14-7. That put them in a win-or-go home situation against Kitchener. In a back-and-fourth game the Express came up just short, losing in walk-off fashion to fall 8-7.

“The team had a great showing in the A side of the tournament,” said Express coach Shawn Hutcheson. “Competing in every game with some of the best team in the province.”
