U13 Stars’ Maddux Hartwick scores five against Lakefield

The Goodyear U13 Napanee Stars won a come-from-behind 5-4 victory over Lakefield in Napanee. It was a see-saw battle as both teams held leads early on, but the Stars trailed with only half a period left. Maddux Hartwick took a feed from Chase Castignier, fired a fluttering shot past the goalie for his fourth goal. Not done yet, Hartwick would notch the winner, his fifth, with under 80 seconds left. Grayson Rowe earned a helper, while goalie Sawyer Bradshaw took the win. In Campbellford, they held on for a 4-4 tie, after leading by three in the third. Chase Castagnier tallied all four for the Stars.

Napanee’s U15 Stars rolled over Douro 8-0 at the Strathcona Paper Centre. Callen Wilson would get the winner in the first in close on a feed from Brock Boutilier, who would get one of his own early in the second, a fine backhander. The onslaught continued with goals by Oliver Kimmett, Callen Wilson, Quinn McConnell, Keagan York, Wes Davey, and Declan McGarvey.

Goalie Carter Cork got the shutout with shots favouring the locals 50-9.

In Brighton, the U15’s preyed on their hosts 10-4. They received goals from Colton Lockridge (2), Kimmett, Jacob Lyons, Davey, Hudson Conger, Boutilier, Zac Wilde, McGarvey, and Brock Alaver.

The U18 D&D Electrocraft Stars were 4-2 winners over Stirling. Jayden Holden got the first of two on a rebound late in the first period. Owen Kish tallied early in the second, and Coulson South tallied the winner with over 10 minutes left in the second frame. The visitors would score a pair, but it was too little, to late. In Wellington, the U18’s escaped with a victory, 3-2 over Prince Edward County. Caleb South, Holden, and Kish scored for the Stars.

The Cpk Interior Products Napanee U11B Stars went 3-0 in round robin at the Silver Stick in Pembroke. Friday, they beat Pembroke, 6-3. Saturday at noon, they achieved a 6-2 victory over Cumberland, and edged Perth 2-1, but were downed 2-1 by Clarence-Rockland in the playoffs.

Napanee’s U11D Stars had a challenging weekend at the Pembroke Silver Stick accumulating three losses in the round robin: 5-0 facing Sturgeon Lake, 4-2 with Lakefield, and 8-0 vs. Douro. Quinn Campbell scored twice in the Lakefield match.
