Two separate stunt driving charges laid by L&A OPP

Members of the Lennox and Addington OPP have charged two drivers in separate stunt driving related investigations.

On May 28 at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers observed a vehicle travelling 174 km/hr on Highway 401 westbound by County Road 4.

As a result, a 22 year old male, from New York, NY, was charged with:

  • Dive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
  • Careless driving

On May 29 at approximately 4 a.m., officers observed a vehicle travelling 185 km/hr on Highway 401 westbound by Palace Road.

As a result, a 24 year old male, from North York, Ontario, was charged with:

  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
  • Drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available

All accused are scheduled to appear at the Provincial Offences Court in Greater Napanee at a later date. All accused had their licenses suspended for 30 days, and vehicles were impounded for 14 days.

The OPP is committed to safety for all who utilize Ontario’s roadways and will be increasing enforcement on all highways as the summer traffic volumes increase.
