Two people charged in relation to gun shot fired on Isabella Street in Napanee

Two Greater Napanee residents have been arrested and charged in relation to a Nov. 22 incident where a firearm was discharged toward a house on Isabella Street East in Greater Napanee.

The investigation thus far indicates that at roughly 7:52 a.m. on Nov. 22,  a black pickup truck, thought to be a black Dodge Ram, was seen on Isabella Street East in front of the residence. A loud noise, consistent with the sound of a firearm, was heard at the time. The pickup truck left the area immediately afterward. The vehicle of interest was captured on video nearby the scene.

The Lennox & Addington County OPP’s Crime Unit have arrested and charged two people in relation to this incident. As well, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Greater Napanee where items were seized as evidence in the investigation. Investigators credit information received from the public as instrumental in the investigation and would like to thank everyone who contacted police.

L&A County have charged a 31-year-old and a 22-year-old, both of Greater Napanee, with:

  • Discharge a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner;
  • Mischief – destroy or damage property;
  • Careless use of firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The 21-year-old has been charged additionally with:

·      Careless storage of ammunition

·      Four counts of fail to comply with undertaking

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking

The 31-year-old suspect was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee Jan. 4, 2022.

The second suspect was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on Dec. 9, 2021.
