Over the past six years the Prime Minister has shown that he is not the “sharpest knife in the drawer” but has proven to be a master at gaining the support of a number in the media, particularly The Toronto Star and the CBC. When Justin Trudeau came to power, one of the first actions he took was to increase, by millions of dollars, the grants to CBC, resulting in the CBC marching to the tune of the Liberal Party. Now, a few days ago the Liberal Party unveiled its platform for the current election, and in fine print added another $400 million to the CBC. Once again it appears to be paying off but it is unfair to the taxpayers who are footing the bill for favourable coverage of the Liberal Party in an election that few people wanted, except the Prime Minister.
