Traffic complaint leads to impaired charge

Members of the Lennox and Addington OPP have charged a driver with impaired driving.

On April 5 at approximately 5 a.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint on County Road 2 just east of Deseronto. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

As a result of an investigation, the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further testing by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer.

A  25-year-old, of Marysville was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on April 25, 2023. His licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
