Napanee will be one of the stops on Driftwood Theatre’s  24th annual Bard’s Bus Tour this summer.

The company, which focuses on bringing accessible, live, outdoor theatre to Ontario communities introduced its schedule for Rosalynde (As You Like It) Tuesday. A free Napanee show will take place Wednesday, Aug. 8 at the Allen Macpherson House.

Artistic director D. Jeremy Smith set the story in 1918, when Canadian women were just granted the right to vote. He named  the version after the story’s heroine. When forced from her home in the city, she flees into the wilds on a journey of “identity, self-discovery, and love.”

The production will also incorporate live music and puppetry.
