Fun for all ages will be on tap Sept. 11 in Enterprise during the Stone Mills Family Festival, which will run from noon until 6 p.m.

Hosted by the Tamworth and District Lions Club and held on the ball diamonds in Enterprise, the event will feature a farmers market, craft show, live music, an English car show titled Boots and Bonnets, step dancers, fiddlers, games for children and a beef barbecue, just to name a few events.

Among the many highlights will be a dessert auction featuring local celebrities with cake and pies up for bids.

“It’s always fun to do that, the crowd gets right into it and 100 per cent of the proceeds go to community projects within the town,” said Deb Thompson, a member of the Tamworth and District Lions Club and one of the event organizers.

The event promises to have something for everyone, even the history buff. At 2:30 p.m. there will be presentation that explores the storied history of Enterprise.

Opening ceremonies will be held at 1 p.m. featuring O Canada, sung by Melissa Lockridge.

From 3 to 6 p.m. local band Hickory Switch will take the stage.

“All of this free, by donation only,” said Thompson. “The main goal is to have laughter and kindness and build a community and make children run and laugh and play. That’s the whole idea of the event itself.”

Enterprise Sports Field is located at 38 Cross St.
