Suspicious vehicle parked at golf course leads to arrest of two people

On April 28 at approximately 7 p.m., officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on a golf course located off of Old Highway 2 in Tyendinaga Township.

Police arrived on scene and located a driver and passenger sleeping inside a running vehicle.  Investigation determined that the driver was showing signs of impairment and police located and seized suspected Fentanyl, credit cards and personal documents.

Both the driver and passenger were subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for processing.

As a result, L&A County OPP have charged:

A 32-year-old of Brockville has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drug
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance

and a 23-year-old of Brockville with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Both accused were released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee at a later date.  The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
