Suspect arrested and charged with suspected drone drop at Millhaven Pen

The East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested a male in connection to a suspected drone drop of contraband items at the Millhaven Penitentiary.

On May 9, at approximately 7:30 p.m. police were made aware of a drone drop that was completed where a cellular phone, cannabis, hash and tobacco were recovered at the Millhaven Institution.

At approximately 9:00 pm, a traffic stop was conducted on a rental vehicle from Quebec, on Bath Road just east of Bath. There was one male in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop. Search of the vehicle revealed five cellular phones and a receipt was found detailing the purchase of SIM cards, and activation of SIM cards.

As a result of the investigation, Sebastien Claude, 40 years old, of Montreal, was arrested and charged with:

  • Distribute over 30g of dried cannabis
  • Mischief – Interfere with lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property-under $5000
  • Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence
  • Delivers contraband to, or receives contraband from an inmate

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on a later date.
