Classes will be back to in-person learning starting tomorrow.

The union representing education workers has agreed to end its two day strike following the Ontario government’s withdrawal of Bill 28. The two sides are still yet to agree to a contract, but the union workers have agreed to return to the job while another round of talks take place.

“Today, the Government of Ontario announced it would revoke Bill 28 in its entirety and representatives from the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) have agreed to end their current protest.  As a result, both parties are returning to the central negotiating table,” said Krishna Burra, Limestone District School Board director of education.  “This is fantastic news for everyone, and we look forward to the resumption of in-person learning with our highly valued employees, who provide critical services to students, staff, schools, and the system, returning to work tomorrow.”
