Lianne McAuley of the Stone Mills Fire Department set a new record at the Firefighter Challenge world championship in Utah, completing the course in 2:22.91.
Competing with Joe Arico from Exeter Fire, the pair’s time represents a new world’s best in the over 55 co-ed tandem division. She also placed first in the individual over 50, setting a personal best of 4:22.87.
The challenge involves running a half back through five delineators, dragging a hose and spraying a target before finishing off by dragging a 175 pound dummy known as Rescue Randy a distance of 100 feet.
Stone Mills’ Ashley Scaletta also competed at the event, setting a personal best of 3:27. Submitted photo.
