Sandra Steinhause died peacefully with her partner and family by her side on Sunday, September 24, 2023. She was born in January 1939 in Montreal. She studied at Loyola College, Université de Montréal, and St Francis Xavier University. She Lived in Montreal, Antigonish, Thunder Bay, Toronto, Ottawa, and in the Village of Bath, surrounded by friends and neighbours. Her love of appetizers, passion for creating sea glass jewelry and her adventurous spirit will be missed by her partner Larry King, her children Gary (Jackie Lyons), Eve-Lynn (Allen Flaming) and Ian Stein (Elizabeth Kubic), her niece Bonnie Cranin (Andrew) and her six grandchildren, Janna (Kate Campbell) and Zachary Flaming (Erin Ring), Maya (Phil James) and Ben, Rachele and Toby Stein. Her family and friends will always be retelling her many zany stories, such as the one with the owl, kissing a member of the Cabinet, and her job interview mishap. She was a wonderful friend and an amazing inspiration to those who were fortunate to have known her. A celebration of Sandra’s life was held on Thursday, September 28 at St John’s Community Hall in Bath. Donations in Sandra’s honour may be made to Dawn House in Kingston.
