SPAULDING, Marguerite
We are saddened to announce the passing of Marguerite Spaulding (nee Monty) on May 2nd 2023 at the Napanee General Hospital. Preceded in death by her husband Tom Spaulding and step son William Spaulding.
She had a short battle with cancer and a longer battle with dementia.
She will be remembered for her unique sense of humour and her keen interest in the arts. She was a great pianist, a talented harpist and a lovely artist and writer.
Born (Feb 12 1936) in Tokyo Japan to Canadian diplomat parents, she spent her childhood in countries all over the world, before returning to Canada for high school and then University.
She will be sadly missed by her brother Peter Monty, her two daughters Sarah (Mark) Powell and Catherine (Jeff Best) Spaulding, her 5 grandchildren Amelia (Tommy) Heigh, Maxwell and Olivia Powell as well as Maya and Ryan Spaulding Best. She will also be missed by her step-children and grandchildren Betsy (Kathi), Rebecca and Neil as well as Hannah (Tim) and Drew, along with many friends and family both near and far.
As one of her dear friends said ~ May her beautiful spirit find grace among the stars.
The family will welcome friends and family on Sunday June 4th at Sarah and Marks home in Napanee, between 1pm and 4pm.
