Solar lines could be accommodated in unused corridors

The Beaver is to be congratulated on its thorough coverage of the current solar panel debate in Stone Mills.

One wonders, however, why any land has to be cleared when a few kilometres to the north of the project, a 100 m-wide strip of already bared land stretches from Ottawa to Toronto.

Canada possesses about 160,000 km of power-line corridors, kept bare (and unutilized at great expense. Put the solar panels under the transmission towers and plug them in.
