On Feb 20, 2021 shortly after 3 a.m., members of the Lennox & Addington OPP responded to a report of a distraught person at the overpass on Old Wilton Road in Odessa.
An 18-year old person from Odessa was located on the overpass over the 401 Highway. Officers attempted to approach the individual, but the person suffered life-threatening injuries after falling from the bridge. She was transported to hospital for medical attention.
The highway has since been re-opened.
The OPP has notified the Province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result the OPP will not be able to provide any further information.
