Silver finish at qualifiers nets U17 Express a spot in Pool A of PWSA’s Grand Championships Aug. 5-7

Napanee’s U17 Daman Storage Express solidified their spot in the top division of the Tier II Grand Championships with a silver medal finish at the Provincial Women’s Softball Association Qualifiers, held over the weekend in Oshawa.

Napanee entered the gold medal game with a perfect record, defeating Stittsville 13-0, Oshawa 8-7 and Brampton 15-7. In the gold medal game they were right there but ultimately came up short in a 12-10 loss to Brampton.Danielle Barker pitched the entire weekend for the Express, working with catcher Keyana Whan.

They’ll now play among the province’s best teams in Tier II of the Grand Championships, which will be held Aug. 5-7 in Windsor.
