Napanee’s Scott Chadwick will serve as lead with Scott McDonald’s rink at this week’s Grand Slam of Curling event, the Boost National in Conception Bay NL, which began Tuesday and runs through Sunday.

Chadwick is a former junior curler from the Napanee District Curling Club. Further to this it has just been announced that Team McDonald has been granted a third qualifying spot in the Men’s Provincials, known as the Tankard, held in Elmira from Jan. 27 – Feb. 3 due to their excellent curling record.

Great curling also to the Tuesday Night Mixed league winning team of David VanVlack, Jordan VanVlack, Angela Kurc, Ed Kurc. All the rest of the leagues are curling their best to get their name on the coveted trophy. The Up&At’Em, thanks to Don and Brenda Kerr, is preparing for the traditional four table pot luck and most other leagues have ‘goodie nights’ planned.

If anyone would like to curl in a league they are not in now, please let the director or convenor know as soon as possible. The sign up sheet is posted for the annual Strategy Session/Refresher Training being held  Jan. 6.

The semi annual General Meeting was well attended and president Heather Ramshaw and the board of directors were pleased to see so many members take part in the business part of the curling club. They are now ready to continue working strenuously on your behalf to ensure the operation of the club runs efficiently and smoothly.
