Napanee OPP are warning residents of two scam artists who have been spotted in the area asking for gas money.
In the past two weeks Napanee OPP officers have received complaints about a male and female stopping motorists and approaching pedestrians asking for money for gas.
The male and female have been reported to be knocking on the windows of motorists at the corner of Centre Street and Richmond Boulevard and approaching pedestrians in parking lots in that area offering to exchange jewelry for cash. The claim their car has run out of gas on the highway and they are unable to get home.
The story is untrue and the jewelry fake.
