Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre is delighted to invite the community  to a Wildlife Baby Shower and Open House on Sunday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For  this day only, visitors can tour the main building to see current patients in care as part of an  annual fundraiser to support the rehabilitation of local wildlife.

“Not only does the Baby Shower event help us raise desperately needed money, it also allows  us to educate our community. Attendees get to see the work we do, and how we manage to  care for thousands of wild animals every year,” says Leah Birmingham, Medical Director at  Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre. “They see how passionate our team is, and the complexity that  goes into the care we provide wildlife.”

This complexity of care is costly, and Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre relies on community generosity to have enough food, medicine, enrichment, and trained staff for the thousands of  patients treated annually. To support this need, the Baby Shower provides many opportunities  to contribute, such as bidding on a silent auction item, making a purchase from the gift shop or  an on-site vendor, or by making a direct donation.

The event also offers a variety of family-friendly activities including live music, a scavenger  hunt, face painting, dress up like a wildlife veterinarian, and more. “[The Baby Shower] is our  biggest fundraiser of the year, so we are inviting everyone to join us for a barbecue and day of  fun activities for kids of all ages,” says Sue Meech, Director of Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre.

Mark your calendars for this heartwarming event on Sunday, May 12 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at  Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre (8749 County Road 2, Napanee, ON, K7R 3L1). Admission is free.
