Napanee’s Salvation Army Thrift Store will host a customer appreciation/volunteer recruitment day this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Shoppers will be treated to several great sales on used items, with proceeds from the sale of the donated goods going towards the Salvation Army’s community programs. At the same time as the appreciation day staff will also be on hand to talk to anyone who might be interested in volunteering at the store or at the local food bank.

“We’ll show them around and what’s involved,” says store manager Terry Howes. “If they’re interested they can fill out an application.”

There’s no set time commitment for volunteers and any little bit can be a big help.

“We’ll work with their schedules, we’re pretty flexible,” said Howes.

As always, the store is also accepting donated items to sell in the store as well. Howes asks that anyone looking to drop off a donation do it during the store hours between 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday, rather than simply leaving items unattended in the store’s driveway. They’ve had issues with theft and items thrown about in the past.

The store is located at 12 Mill Street in Napanee.
