Salvation Army offers thanks for community support

Christmas is said to be a giving time of the year.  That rings so true especially for us at the Salvation Army. We have been so thankful over the years to the Napanee and area communities for their continued support of our organization.  By contributing supplies and monetary donations it helps us deliver programs and services needed in the Communities we oversee.

The generosity still seems to amaze me even after being involved for 10 years.

Although we are grateful for all donations given I need to express a huge thank you to the various Contractors; Aecon, State, TransCanada, Matrix and Black & McDonald for their large monetary and food donation.  With their $11,000-plus monetary donations we were able to support our Christmas food hamper program this year by their donation alone.

With a large area of Lennox and Addington County  to cover  and us being the only food bank in the area the need for community support is always essential for us to be able to provide services.  Our food bank utilizes the funds from our kettle campaign to provide sustenance to our clients throughout the year.

If it wasn’t for the donors, volunteers and community support we would not be able to do the work that we do and for that we are thankful.  We hope to be able to serve these communities  for many years to come.
