Salvation Army Kettle Campaign Raised 176 Per Cent Of Its Goal

Napanee’s Salvation Army Kettle Campaign shattered even its most optimistic projections, raining a record $131,922. That accounted for 176 per cent of their original goal. On Jan. 23 Napanee’s Metro presented the proceeds from their $2 point of sale terminals to officially cap off the campaign. Metro store manager Angie Ash (left) presented the cheque to Salvation Army Kettle Campaign manager Tina Steele and director of community ministries Abby Mills. The Old Time Fiddlers also contributed $500 to the cause while Peter Boyer Chevrolet Buick GMC also added $5,000 to match the $5,000 raised from the kettle at the dealership. The Salvation Army is grateful to the businesses, clubs, organizations and individuals who supported their campaign. Thanks to the efforts of this incredibly caring community, they will be able to continue to support vulnerable families and individuals in our community. Submitted photo.
