January 1, 1935 – June 17, 2023

Lea was born on the family farm on the Vermilion River in Drury Township near Whitefish, Ontario. She was one of 11 children born to the late Kalle and Viivi Jokinen.

In the latter part of her career, Lea was promoted to the position of tax collector. She was active in the tax collector’s Provincial organization, including one term as their President.
Travel was one of Lea’s interests. She and her husband Des Roycroft spent winters in Florida for many years. She enjoyed visiting her family members, including her relatives that lived in Finland. She made several trips there while she was still able to travel.
Lea died in 2023, surrounded by family, at the John M. Parrott Centre.
