Maple Blues Award winner and three time Juno nominee Suzie Vinnick will be the next artist to perform in the Starstop Series, taking the stage at the Napanee Golf and County Club on Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m.

A Saskatoon native transplanted to the Niagara Region of Ontario, Roots and Blues singer Vinnick, along with being a three time Juno nominee, is a CFMA Award winner, and a 10-time winner of the Maple Blues Award for song writing, female vocalist, acoustic act and more. Vinnick is described as having a ‘voice you’ve heard a thousand times and one you’ll never forget. It soars, it growls, it whispers and it shouts from a deep, deep well of emotion. The pure joy she exudes when she picks up that guitar is so worth the show.’

She has toured nationally with Downchild, Stuart McLean’s The Vinyl Café, the John McDermott Band and she performed for Canadian Peacekeepers in Bosnia and the Persian Gulf. She was also the voice of Tim Horton’s for five years.

This will mark the second time Starstop will be hosted at the Napanee and Golf and Country Club after having been housed at Ellena’s Café since its inception.

“Ellena’s, which has been a very popular location for the last seven years is now licenced and the room’s capacity is limited,” said Cliff Trott, Startstop organizer. “It is a very nice intimate environment for house concerts and we will still be finding shows geared to the smaller location. Ellena is a wonderful host and has always been appreciated by artists coming in to Napanee. The golf course allows us to bring larger shows and meet the financial commitment to bring established artists to Napanee. The room is quaint and charming with food and drink available.”
Tickets are $30 and are available at the Napanee Golf Club at the pro shop or dining room and are also online at www.starstop.ca. Doors are open at 7 pm. There may be tickets available at the door. The golf course cannot reserve tickets by phone.

Founded in 2015, the Starstop Series is a community-based organization dedicated to attracting musical stars to make a stop in Napanee as they tour through the region.
