RODGERS, Teresa “Rodge”

August 26, 1928 – March 24, 2024

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Teresa on Palm Sunday, March 24th, at KGH with family at her side. Predeceased by her siblings Irene Seale, Anne Gagnon, William Rodgers, Margaret Rodgers, Clare Rodgers and Dorothy Rodgers. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Elizabeth Rodgers and Lilianne Rodgers and three generations of nieces and nephews.
Born in Portland, Ontario, Teresa left the farm to go to Kingston and pursue her career in nursing. After 41 years at Hotel Dieu Hospital, “Rodge” as she was better known in the medical community, retired in 1992 as Director of Nursing. Following retirement, Teresa immediately formed Surgilink Consulting Services and went on to complete contracts with many of the major hospitals in the area including Belleville General, Trenton Memorial, L&A County Hospital and Campbellford Memorial and in 1999 was recruited to oversee the triage of Serbian refugees brought to CFB Trenton.
Teresa had a heart of gold, was committed to her family and spent her life putting others before herself including many charitable deeds. She was much beloved and she will be dearly missed.
Visitation will take place on Friday, Apr 19th from 6-8 pm at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, Kingston. The funeral will take place Saturday Apr 20th at 10 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 392 Palace Road, Kingston. A reception for family and friends will follow at the James Reid Funeral Home and a private family burial will take place following the reception.
The family expresses our deep gratitude to KGH Davies 4, Connell 3 and Providence Care Transitional Treatment staff for their kindness and excellent care.
In lieu of flowers, donations on her behalf to Covenant House or The Monastery of Mount Carmel Society of the Little Flower would be greatly appreciated.

“Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.”
