I could not resist pointing out the irony in Dwight Hogg’s March 28 letter, which bemoans the “character assassination” of Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott, yet goes on to imply that the prime minister is guilty of criminal behaviour.
I thought that, in this country, we considered people to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, but perhaps that rule does not apply to Liberals. Even Wilson-Raybould herself has stated that she did not think that there was any illegality involved and, according to the opposition, her word is unassailable.
The rhetoric around this issue has become so toxic that I would not be surprised if an angry mob assembled on Parliament Hill carrying torches and pitchforks and chanting “lock him up, lock him up!”
