Report: Ontario to drop masking requirements on March 21

Masks were first mandated to be worn inside any indoor setting across the Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox and Addington Area in June 2020.

Ontario’s chief medical officer Dr. Kieran Moore is expected to announce the province will be lifting its mask mandate as of March 21.

A press conference has been scheduled for 11 a.m. tomorrow where it’s expected the announcement will be made, removing the requirement for individuals to wear masks inside of stores, restaurants and schools.

Ontario schools are set to pause for March Break next week and resume on March 21.

Masking is expected to stay in place for hospitals and nursing homes for the time being.
