Tyler Ignazzitto’s three power-play goals were enough to prolong the Napanee Raiders’ season as the home team pulled off a 5-2 win tonight at the SPC.

Napanee now trails the Amherstview Jets 3-2 in the best-of-seven semifinal series.
Napanee scored the game’s final four goals to overcome a 2-1 deficit. Amherstview’s Joey Mayer and Napanee’s Austin Labelle traded goals in the first period. A costly Raider turn over in the opening seconds of the second period allowed Zach Maciel to give the Jets a 2-1 lead.

The game’s momentum may have shifted when Raider goalie Nicholas Nabuurs turned away a penalty shot at the 13:37 minute mark.

Less than a minute later the Raiders’ Ignazzitto and Cullen Hinds scored six seconds apart to give Napanee a lead they’d never surrender.

Ignazzitto added two more insurance goals in the third.

Nabuurs made 20 saves for the win. Alexel Masanko took the loss with 41 saves.
The series will shift to Amherstview on Sunday night for Game 6 with a 7:30 p.m. A Raider victory would push the game to a winner-take-all Game 7 on Tuesday at the SPC. Puck drop would be 7:30 p.m.
