Five goals in the opening frame was more than enough for the Napanee Raiders to cruise to an easy 11-1 victory at home tonight against the Gananoque Islanders.
Sebastian Kilcommons got the offensive party started with a power-play goal just 2:30 into the game.

Justynn Steven, Curtis Marrison and Tyler Ignazzitto each had a goal over the next 11 minutes and the rout was officially on.

Matt Carter broke the string of Raider goals with a power-play goal just shy of the 15 minute mark for what turned out to be the lone goal the visitors would score. Napanee skaters rattled off the next seven goals in a row. Cullen Hinds ended the outburst with a natural hat trick, scoring the final three goals of the game. He had two in the second and the lone goal of the third. Kilcommons, Steven and Ignazzitto each added another goal while Austin Labelle had one.

Jeremy Piazzi, making his first start since leaving last week’s game with muscle cramping, earned the win with 18 saves. Former Raider Cameron Parr took the loss, allowing the first five goals before giving way to Josh Rowden. After struggling on the power-play last week, Napanee went 3-6 on the man advantage.

Napanee will hit the road tomorrow night for a date against the Port Hope Panthers. Puck drop is 7:30 p.m. Napanee will look to not only avenge last week’s loss, but also sew up the PJHL Tod Division’s top seed. They need just one more win to lock up home ice advantage through the league playoffs.
