Ice is set to return to the Strathcona Paper Centre next Monday, the first sign that hockey season isn’t too far behind.
Construction of the Napanee Raiders’ 2023-24 roster is already underway, with four dates set for their main camp: Aug. 25, 27, 29 and 31.
“While we have a strong core group committed this season, there are opportunities at every position,” reads a release from the team.
Players born between 2003-07 can express their interest in taking part in the camp by visiting the recruiting page of the team’s website, www.NapaneeRaiders.com or emailing NapaneeRaiders@gmail.com.
Earlier this offseason the team confirmed Ben Hagerman would return behind the bench, a role he has filled since the 2019-20 season.
Last year’s club had an exceptional regular season, going 35-5-1, en route to a first place finish. Their playoff run came to an abrupt end however, suffering a 4-2 series upset at the hands of the Port Hope Panthers.
