After a pair of one goal victories to open the series, the Napanee Raiders had a little breathing room in their 4-1 home win over the Gananoque Islanders last night at the SPC.

The win gives Napanee a 3-0 series lead in their best-of-seven Tod Division semifinals.

The Raiders came out strong in Game 3, with Reid Humphrey, Curtis Marrison and Aidan McFarland each scoring within the first half of the game to build a 3-0 lead.

Gananoque’s Aiden Johnson scored at 14:59 of the second but once again Napanee’s defense and goaltending shut down their opponents from there. Evan Foley picked up an early goal in the third to round out the 4-1 win. Bailey Maracle made 28 saves for the win.

Napanee will have the opportunity to sweep away the Islanders tomorrow night in Gananoque.

If the Raiders are unable to close out the series Thursday, Game 5 would go Friday night in Napanee. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Game 6 would go Sunday in Gananoque and a winner-take-all Game 7 would be Tuesday in Napanee at 7:30 p.m.

Meanwhile across the bay bridge the Picton Pirates hold a 2-0 series lead over the Amherstview Jets. Game 3 goes tomorrow night in Picton.
