For a second week in a row the Napanee Raiders needed some extra time to put away the Huskies, wrapping up a 4-3 win in overtime on Saturday in Frankford.

Ben White had the game winner, scoring just shy of the seven minute mark to help the Raiders wrap up their regular season on a winning note. That goal was White’s second of the game, his first coming 5:38 into the second period to put Napanee up 3-1 at the time.

The Huskies continued their habit of being pesky opponents for Napanee however, rallying with one in the second and another in the third to force an extra frame.

Reid Lambert and Michael Patrick also scored for Napanee while Bailey Maracle picked up the win with 34 saves. Husky goalie Hayden Candler finished with one more save than his counterpart, including turning away Christos Chronis on a penalty shot in the second period.

Napanee had been scheduled to face the Campbellford Rebels the night before for their final home game of the regular season, but the game was cancelled due to the snowstorm. On the season Napanee finished with a record of 35-5-1, giving them 71 points in 41 games played.

The Raiders will now have a bit of down time as they enjoy a first round bye while the number four seed Port Hope Panthers do battle with the five seed Frankford Huskies in a best-of-seven playoff series. The series gets underway March 8 and would wrap up on March 18 if it went the distance.

Elsewhere the three seed Picton Pirates square off against the sixth seed Campbellford Rebels. Game 1 goes Thursday in Picton and would continue through March 19 if all seven games were necessary.

The winners of the Tod Division quarter-finals will advance to face the top seeded Raiders and second-place Amherstview Jets-who also gained a first a round bye-respectively.

The Jets finished with a record of 26-13-3, a full 16 points back of Napanee for first.
