Police seize drugs and firearms from Greater Napanee residence

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Lennox and Addington OPP initiated a drug trafficking investigation and seized firearms and illegal drugs from a residence and a vehicle in Greater Napanee.

On Nov. 19 members of the Street Crime Unit, assisted by the OPP Tactics and Rescue unit (TRU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the L&A County OPP executed a search warrant at a residence on Church Street in Greater Napanee.  Officers seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl residue along with a shotgun, replica handgun, Canadian currency, other weapons, and drug paraphernalia.  Two persons were arrested at the scene.

A 34-year-old of Greater Napanee and a 26-year-old of Deseronto are charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose

Both accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario court of Justice in Greater Napanee on Jan. 19, 2021.
