Police respond to two separate collisions involving hydro poles on Sunday

The Lennox and Addington OPP attended two separate collisions involving the vehicles hitting a hydro pole.

On April 14 shortly before 8:30 a.m., L&A County OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on County Road 1 just west of Jim Kimmett Blvd. Police, Fire, and Paramedic Services all responded. The vehicle had left the roadway entering the ditch and rolled over striking a hydro pole. The only occupant of the vehicle was transported to hospital with major injuries. The collision scene was held for several hours resulting in a partial road closure. The investigation is continuing, no charges have been laid.

Later on April 14, shortly after 10:30 a.m., L&A County OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Emerald 40 foot Road on Amherst Island. When police arrived the Fire Department was already on scene. The vehicle had left the roadway after trying to avoid a deer and struck a hydro pole. The only occupant of the vehicle had minor injuries. The collision scene was held until the hydro pole was stabilized and the vehicle was removed. No charges were laid.
