Police respond to break-and-enter in progress in Loyalist, two suspects arrested

Members of the Lennox and Addington OPP have charged two people with multiple criminal offences.

On July 16 just after 7 p.m., officers responded to a location on Taylor Kidd Boulevard in Loyalist Township for a report of a possible break-and-enter and theft in progress.

Responding officers, along with members of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine Unit were able to contain the area and arrest two suspects a short time later.

As a result a 46-year-old and 39-year-old, both of Tyendinaga Township, were charged with:

  • Break, enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Possession of break in instruments
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on Sept. 13, 2022.
