A routine traffic stop by L&A OPP on Thursday resulted in drugs and weapons charges for a Napanee man and two Kingston teens.
Officers stopped a vehicle around 8 a.m. at the 577 mark of Hwy 401 near Napanee and conducted an investigation. Two replica handguns were seized.
Upon further investigation, three individuals were charged.
A 19-year-old Kingston woman, 18-year-old Kingston man and 24-year-old Napanee man were all charged with trafficking methamphetamine (crystal meth), cocaine and other drugs as well as for being in possession of weapon for dangerous purpose.
All three accused face a court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on July 7, 2020.
-On Saturday around 7:30 a.m. officers with L&A County OPP responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on County Road 506 in North Frontenac.
As a result of the investigation L&A County OPP have charged a 27-year-old woman of Kington with operating a motor vehicle while impaired and operating a motor vehicle while over legal blood alcohol limit.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on July 7. The accused person’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
– Also on Saturday, around 8:30 p.m., L&A OPP officers were on general patrol and observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner on County Road 6 in Odessa.
The officers initiated a traffic stop and as a result of the investigation a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was conducted on the driver. Police have charged a 26-year-old man, of Kington, with operation while impaired; and possession of methamphetamine.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on July 7. The accused person’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
