On Thursday members of the Tyendinaga Police Service (TPS) and the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Lennox & Addington OPP executed a search warrant at a residence on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
The joint TPS/OPP investigation uncovered a quantity of illegal drugs, a handgun and a live hand grenade during the search.
Police have arrested and charged an 18 years-old of the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory with unauthorized possession of a firearm, tampering with a firearm’s serial number, possession of explosives for an unlawful purpose and trafficking.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Jan. 2, 2020.
