Police nab suspect accused of breaking into Deseronto laundromat

On Dec. 13 at approximately 6 p.m., officers with Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a report of a break and enter and theft that had occurred at a laundromat on St. George Street in in Deseronto.

Investigation revealed that two suspects entered the store on Dec. 11 and stole coin from the coin operated machines and tokens for the car wash. The suspects were caught on video and one person has since been arrested and charged.

L&A County OPP has charged  34-year-old of Greater Napanee contrary to the criminal code with:

  • Break and Enter
  • Theft
  • Fail to comply with undertaking

The accused was held for a bail hearing and appeared by video at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on Dec. 15.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a second person.
