The Lennox & Addington OPP have charged one person with fraud offences in relation to the “grandparent” scam that the OPP were previously warning the public about.
On June 10 officers responded to an address in Loyalist Township for a report of a fraud in progress. Officers attended and one person was arrested at this time.
As a result of an investigation, a 46-year-old, of Laval, Quebec, has been charged with:
- Fraud Over $5,000
- Theft Over $5,000
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
