The investigation into the cause of a fatal fire that occurred on Feb. 20 continues by investigators from the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) and the Lennox and Addington OPP.
Shortly after 2 p.m. emergency crews were called to a residence on Bethel Road in the Township of Stone Mills when a passerby noticed a structure on the property, a detached garage, was ablaze and dialled 911. The body of 62 year-old Howard Arnold Amey, an occupant of the property, was found amongst the debris.
The garage was completely destroyed by the fire. The OFM scene investigation has concluded, but no cause or damage estimate is available at the current time.
