Police charge man with trafficking drugs near Belleville Road walkway

On Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Ontario Provincial Police East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), were investigating complaints about drug activity occurring on, or around, a footpath that runs between First Avenue and Belleville Road in Napanee.  

 While conducting the investigation, officers witnessed suspicious activity and attempted to arrest a male party who fled on foot. Following a short foot pursuit the male was subsequently arrested by officers.

 A 40 year old male of no fixed address has been charged with possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking (two counts) contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and trafficking a controlled substance. He is also charged with possession of proceeds of crime and failing to comply with a probation order (two counts).
